2011 MAXAIR® Attends the Annual APIC Conference in Baltimore

August 1, 2011, Irvine, CA – MAXAIR® Systems was proud to participate in the 2011 APIC Annual Conference, held June 27-29 in Baltimore, which featured more than 60 educational sessions focusing on a wide range of infection control topics.

Annually, APIC hosts one of the leading and most comprehensive annual conferences dedicated to infection prevention clinical education. It provides Infection Preventionists from around the globe an unprecedented opportunity to learn and network with industry leaders.

“By all accounts, this was one of APIC’s most successful conferences yet. The overall attendance was the highest in APIC history with 2,738 attendees (not including exhibitor personnel).  Previous highest attendance was in 2008 with 2,679 attendees.  Attendance was 37% higher this year as compared to 2010, “ says Greg Poersch , Vice President, Business Development,  Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc.


The conference was attended by infection prevention practitioners, perioperative nurses, nurse consultants, respiratory therapists and other healthcare partners. Among the winners of MAXAIR’s “N95 vs PAPR” Survey were, Michelle Farber, Debbie Mosher, Carol Schultz, Sally Tice and Mia Ricobene; however, Connie Nowakowski, the Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator from Aurora St. Luke's South Shore, was the lucky winner of MAXAIR’s ACER Iconia 500Tablet drawing.

Unprecedented numbers of conference goers stopped by the MAXAIR’s booth to view the new 710-DLC CAPR® (Controlled Air Purifying Respirator) System, which delivers the latest in cutting-edge technology designed for hospital infection prevention, emergency preparedness, employee health and safety, and aerosol and droplet generating procedures.
